A yearly look inside the cabinet at the heating, the wiring and any leaks, plus your cover, lid lifter and insulation. After the first hour, it’s £35 an hour, plus any parts.
What a check-over includesSometimes called a quarterly service.

Like valeting a car: everything on the outside that we can reach, but not inside the cabinet. We flush the pipework, clean the filters, then drain, clean and refill the tub and balance the water.

A clean is like valeting a car: we do everything on the outside that we physically can, but we don’t go inside the cabinet. It’s right for a tub that works but looks grubby or tired. These are the core steps, in order. Every tub is different, so we often do more as well.

A check-over and a clean in one visit, so it covers the inside of the cabinet as well as the outside. We recommend it if a tub has been left off for a long time, is half full of rainwater, snails and slugs, or the water has gone bad. Biofilm builds up in the pipework, and bacteria such as Legionella and Pseudomonas can grow in it, so that’s when a flush of the whole system is worth doing. These are the core checks. Every tub is different, so we often do more as well.
We look over the heater element and its seals and the pump seals and unions, and clear any debris out of the pumps.
We check the current each part is drawing, and test the RCD and the isolation switch.
We check the cabinet and the shell, and look over the cover and its clips.
Every jet is checked, and any trapped air is let out of the pumps.
We work on any stains, clean the cover and put a vinyl protector on it.
We reset the filter cycles and the clock on the control panel.
A final check for leaks and that everything’s running, a look at your water-care routine, and we’ll tell you about anything we’ve found.

If paying guests use your tub, regular servicing helps you meet your duties under the HSE’s guidance, HSG282. It doesn’t cover everything the guidance asks of you, though, and you remain the duty holder.

It depends on the visit: the price of a check-over, a clean and a full service is shown on each one above. A full service costs less than booking a check-over and a clean separately. With a clean or a full service, basic parts such as heater seals are included, and any other parts are extra. There’s no VAT to add.
People use different names for the same jobs. A quarterly service is what we call a clean: a regular visit where we change the water, give the tub a good clean, clean the filter and get the chemical levels right again. An annual service is what we call a full service: a clean plus a check-over inside the cabinet.
Once a year suits most home tubs. If yours gets a lot of use, or it’s starting to play up, it’s worth having it done more often. Holiday lets usually need more visits: see regular visits for holiday lets.
It helps if the tub is full and we can get to the cabinet panels. If it’s leaking badly, it’s worth mentioning when you book.
We don’t supply chemicals, so we use your usual ones. If your filter is past cleaning, we can supply a new one. Filters come in many shapes and sizes, so a new one is an extra, priced on the day.

If your tub is sunk into decking or the ground, or set against a wall, it helps to mention it when you book, as it can affect how long the job takes. If you’re not sure, a photo is fine.
